• Legal Tint Limits

  Oregon law sets specific limits on how dark your vehicle windows can be tinted. However, the state recognizes that certain medical conditions require additional protection from sunlight.   Standard Oregon Tint Limits (Without Exemption):

  • Windshield: Non-reflective tint permitted only on the top 6 inches. Tint below this line is prohibited.

  • Back Side Windows: Minimum 35% VLT for sedans; any darkness for SUVs, vans, and trucks.

  • Windshield tinting below the top 6 inches is NOT permitted even with an exemption.
  • Restricted tint colors still apply: red, gold, yellow, amber, and black are NOT permitted.
